A child dies every 30 seconds from Malaria ....

what a heartbreaking statistic - yet so very true ....

When we BBQ at night, we slather ourselves with mosquito repellant, have citronella candles buring all over the place hoping that this will deter the little critters from giving us an annoying bite or two ....... nothing serious, just an irritating scratchy bite.

The reality of the situation is that over 1 million people die every year because they are bitten buy a Malaria carrying mosquito.

Last night our Fellowship hosted 2 incredibly brave men who flew around the World in a single engine light aircraft to raise awareness about his epidemic which affects so many countries. What an incredible adventure they had - flying through storms, being held up by foreign airport authorities and staying in spider infested accommodation.

What can we do to help? For the sake of a few cups of coffee a week you can help purchase much needed mosquito nets which keep these nasty disease carrying critters from biting little children (and adults) whilst they sleep.

I could not possibly imagine how horrific to have had one of my children perish because of being bitten by a mosquito - especially when medications and other precautions can prevent these deaths.
